About VELO
VELO belongs to British American Tobacco (BAT). BAT introduced tobacco-free nicotine pouches in 2018, selling them as Lyft in markets including the UK and Sweden and as Velo in the United States. In 2019 it announced that its nicotine pouch products would be brought together under the single VELO name, and Lyft products were moved across to it over the following period. In 2020 BAT also acquired the nicotine pouch business of the US company Dryft, whose products were folded into VELO.
The result is a brand sold in many countries with a large range of flavours and strengths. The selection we carry is deliberately small: five slim pouches that cover VELO's mint styles and one citrus.

VELO states its strength per pouch, which is the figure we use for every brand. The 10.9 mg products sit just inside our 11–20 mg band; Crispy Peppermint at exactly 10 mg sits at the top of the 2–10 mg band. All five are slim pouches.
Choosing within VELO
- For a lighter mint, Crispy Peppermint at 10 mg is the gentlest of the five.
- For the same strength in two styles, compare Peppermint Storm and Orange Spark, both 10.9 mg — one mint, one citrus.
- For a stronger mint, Bright Spearmint and Freezing Peppermint are both 14 mg. Spearmint is the softer, sweeter mint; peppermint is the sharper one, and "Freezing" signals a colder profile.
If you already use VELO in another market, check the mg per pouch rather than the product name: VELO sells the same flavour at different strengths in different countries.
